Default Things you'll shoot while deer hunting...

What other things will you shoot while you are deer hunting besides a deer?

For me, coyotes are DEAD! If I don't have a long drag, hogs are not safe.

I have taken a 22LR pistol to the stand and taken a few squirrels...

Seems I used to peg down a couple 'Dillos with my bow in the early season each year.

I will risk losing a deer if a yote passes through. I have watched dillos, then watch where they go. THEN, when I leave, I'll track them down and kill them. They tear up all ground nesting bird (i.e.- turkey, quail) nests and eat their eggs. They are nearly as bad as yotes.

Depends on if im hunting a certain deer or not....I have let coyotes walk if I was hunting a big deer...

I have and will again shoot hogs when I see them.

dillos are rough on arrows, anoying little critters. coyotes are dead if i get chance. bobcats get a pass unless i have a bow during firearms season and get a chance. hogs not yet but will shoot if seen.

Make sure you read your regs prior to taking a bobcat with either method. The season comes in later. Some braggart posted about taking a bobcat last year during the deer season. Too bad the season was closed and DNR read the post...

I'll shoot a good eating sized hog if I see one on about 75% of my deer hunts, the other 25% would be deer-only hunts during the rut or anytime that I believe I have an above average chance to see a good buck.

Just depends....I'm prolly not shooting a coyote if I'm in an area I really wanna hunt....may shoot a hog, but sometimes I don't like to mess with them. I guess if I'm deer hunting, I'm usually holding out for deer.
