If you're having to bid for it, and you really want it bad, I'd start the bid out at $15/per acre.

Gots to work fast. Just called estate manager and bid is going to be picked on Sept 7th. No minimum bid. Going to be done by sealed envelope. Some stipulations though. Hunting can only be from daylight till 10am and 4pm till dark because they allow tours of the house etc during middle of day. This is Flannery Oconner Estate

By looking at the website for that place. I don't suppose it would be worth the hassle. Probably will have a ton of rules

You should bid $20 an acre. That way you should win, but if you don't then you will know you did everything you could to try to win it.

I was thinking $20 an acre before I saw the hunting hrs and the back 75 acres or so in a 1.5 yr old clearcut. Make for good rifle hunting but cuts down on amount of potential stand sites

All you need is one stand on the right hand side of the field off 441. I used to see deer there EVERY time I drove by going home

If I were to get it I would prolly have to allow some gun hunters to fill membership. It would be tough to do bowhunting only since most have kids that want to hunt. I'm all for letting the kids get in on the action. There may be 60 to 70 deer per sq mile there

But throw in calls and decoys and access and 20 an acre is a drop in bucket

I would bid $5.00 an acre and ask for keys to the house.
