I drop mine into a pot of water soaked black walnuts. It darkens them up good and then leave em out a couple days and they get a good covering. Then dip in wax.

I got the logwood dye online. They darkened up pretty good I guess , then dropped waxed into the water and let it melt. Pulled em out and they have some wax but idk if it's enough. Gonna run with it though. Really need an auger drill bit for bait hole but will make due with what I have for now.

as long as its a thin coat of wax, you should be good.

I'm sure you know, but wear gloves when handling it from now on.

i don't use a bit or anything for the bait hole. piece of rebar or something else and your hammer you'll have with you anyway for the stakes.
last couple Yotes i caught i actually used pieces of duck carcasses. a little unconventional but it worked. just put a few pieces behind a small piece of log/stick in front of where the trap was.

We better quit clogging up the check in thread with chatter.

Checkin in @my recliner watching seinfeld.

Checking in from cabin. #3 in cooler. 270-280 yards on a cull buck that I didn't mistake for a doe. I promised JB I would kill a small buck. QDMA has a bounty on me because nasty racked mature bucks miraculously turn into Freak Nasty in year 4 and somehow survive road riders.

Neck knife still shaving sharp after 3 cleaned/quartered. Tired from hanging with points and talking to home points on phone.

For pintail: all 3 were high shoulder as requested. Checking in to bed.
